March 24, 2008 General Meeting Minutes

    Meeting called to order by President Ken Lundberg, at 6:05pm at the Round Up North.

    Officers and directors present; Ken Lundberg, John Holter, Bill Gobin, Tom Champaigne, Ron Gaare, Marsha Holter, Ed Culhane, Dennis Smet and Connie Pribnow.

    Minutes of the February meeting where approved as they appeared in the newsletter on a motion by Ron Gaare 2nd Connie Pribnow.

    Treasure Ron Gaare reported a beginning March balance in checking of $12,434.55, bills paid of $1,511.84 with deposits of $904.00, leaving an ending balance of $11,826.71.

    Financial Secretary Bill Gobin reported an income for the month of $904.00, which included 7 new members and income of $412.00 from the Great Lakes Expo.  Both reports and financial support the same as this year for the Great Lakes Expo were approved on a motion by John Holter 2nd Connie Pribnnow.

    Old Business: The habitat banquet is set for April 28th at 6:00pm at Round Up North with the volunteers from the Family Fun Day also invited, it was noted that Dennis Pratt from the DNR will be the speaker.

    Spring clean up is set for April 26th with volunteers to meet at the Brule pavilion at 9:00am, it was decided that we would concentrate some of our efforts this year on Hy H, also at noon there will be a meal available for the volunteers at Round Up North. A motion made and approved by John Holter 2nd Bill Gobin that we support the Cub and Boy Scouts at the same rate as last year for their volunteer efforts.

    Discussion of insurance for the club and no real cost estimate yet, John Holter is going to contact an attorney to see if the club really needs the insurance.  Also discussion of the web page with a promise that we will get some sort of operating manul this week so we can update the web page.  There was request that we email our newsletter to members, and decided we will not do this at this time.  A motion made and approved by John Holter 2nd Bill Gobin that members that have not paid their membership by June will no longer receive the news letter.

    New Business: Discussion of annual audit of the club’s books and that Ron Gaare will meet with Ron Pearson, Tom Champaigne and any other interested members for this audit.  A motion by Bill Gobin 2nd John Holter was made and  approved to piggy back our bulk mailing fee with Arrowhead Printing this allowing us to save some money.
